We are an enthusiastic, dedicated team of professionals located in Edinburgh. We have a range of experience working with children across a variety of settings and have been dedicated specifically to working with children with autism and their families over the last 5 years). We work as a team, sharing knowledge and ideas, so that your child’s programme will benefit from our collective expertise.

Gemma Gilmour, MA, Supervisor.
Gemma has worked with children with autism since 2005. Gemma has an MA in psychology from the University of Edinburgh and is currently studying for an MSc in Applied Behaviour Analysis at the University of Wales, Bangor. She has completed all of the necessary academic modules for BCABA (Board Certified Associate Behaviour Analyst) through the Florida Institute of Technology. Gemma received her training working on home programmes run by the Centre for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD) both in the UK and Australia and other independent UK-based consultants. She is working towards full accreditation with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board, undergoing supervised practice by Board Certified Behaviour Analyst Jamie Hughes, Executive Director of Summit Autism Services.

Katie Smith, BSc, MSc, Supervisor.
Katie has worked with children with autism since 2004 and is a behaviour supervisor for Keys for Learning. Katie has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of St Andrews and an MSc in Applied Behaviour Analysis from the University of Wales, Bangor. Katie received her training working on home programmes run by CARD (Centre for Autism and Related Disorders), Peach and other independent UK-based consultants. Katie has attended training in the Picture Exchange Communication System. Currently, Katie is expanding her experience and working for Barnardo's charity as a family support worker.

Rosie O’Flaherty, BA, PGCE.
Rosie is a qualified primary school teacher and has worked as an ABA therapist since 2006. She is in the process of completing the academic modules for BCABA (Board Certified Associate Behaviour Analyst) through the Florida Institute of Technology. Rosie received her training working on home programmes run by the Centre for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD) and other independent UK-based consultants. Currently, Rosie is taking a break from work, after the birth of her second child.





At Keys for Learning we strive to help your child reach their full potential by designing flexible programmes that make use of the most current research available relevant to ABA and autism. Our commitment to continuing professional development is of great importance to us, as we are constantly seeking to improve and keep up-to-date. Additionally, we have attended workshops and conference presentations by world leading experts in the field of teaching children with autism, such as Vince Carbone (founder of the Carbone Clinic), Duncan Fennemore (founder of the Centre For Educational Intervention In Early Childhood), Holly Kibbe and Cherish Twigg (founders of Establishing Operations), James Partington (director of Behavior Analysts, Inc.) and Robert Schramm (founder of the Institute Knospe-ABA).

We will continue to develop our knowledge and experience within the field of ABA and VB, ensuring you receive the highest quality of service.
